El cuerpo del deseo is an American telenovela produced by Aurelio Valcarcél Carroll for Telemundo with co-production RTI Television. It's remake of 1992 Colombian telenovela 'En cuerpo ajeno' and it aired from July 18, 2005 to February 28, 2006. The main stars are Mario Cimarro and Lorena Rojas.

Synopsis[]

Pedro José Donoso is a very wealthy man who, at the age of 67, had achieved everything he wanted, including the love of Isabel Arroyo, a young and attractive woman. However, due to fate, Pedro José suddenly dies of a heart attack, at the same time that a young farmer named Salvador Cerinza (the man he always saw and felt in his visions) dies. Not wanting to resign himself to losing everything, Pedro José reincarnates and invades the body of the ill-fated Salvador, resurrecting just before being buried.

Thanks to this new opportunity that life gives him, Pedro José returns in search of everything he lost, without suspecting what he is going to discover. The unusual return of Pedro José, turned into a handsome young man, unleashes a series of events where secrets, truths and deceptions are exposed.

Thus, Pedro José will discover that Isabel was the lover of one of his trusted employees, Andrés Corona; that the psychic who helped him in his illness, Gaetana Charry, was advising him under deceit; that his mother-in-law, Nina Macedo, and her sister, Rebeca Macedo, are interested parties; and that Walter Franco, the butler who served her, professed a deep hatred for her and damaged her jewelry.

Thanks to his new condition, Pedro José, with the help of Gaetana, working undercover as a driver and assuming the identity of Salvador, will be able to unmask Walter, Rebeca, Andrés and Isabel, and reaffirm his trust in Ángela, his daughter; Abigail, his faithful housekeeper and her children; as well as Valeria, Isabel's sweet and kind cousin. Guilty or innocent, no one will be able to escape the disturbing presence of this stranger who comes to settle the score against those who played with him and to save those who truly loved him; learning what he never knew in life.
