"Eterna magia" was a Brazilian telenovela written by Elizabeth Jhin for Rede Globo. It's an original story and it aired from May 14 to November 2, 2007. The main stars were Malu Mader, Thiago Lacerda and Maria Flor.
Synopsis[]
1st phase[]
It is set in 1938 in the fictional mining town of Serranias, founded by Irish immigrants in the 18th century. The main plot revolves around the Irish Sullivan family, in which the patriarch Max owns the largest mine and mining company in the city. Max married Marta, with whom he had two daughters, the spoiled and calculating Eva and the sweet and kind Nina. After Marta's death, Eva decided to finish her piano studies in Dublin, while Nina is in Max's care, with the help of her sister-in-law, Perola, Marta's older sister. The reason for Marta's death is the great mystery of the telenovela, as the matriarch died of a heart attack, after a tense argument with Perola.
Conrado is a humble farmer, son of Loreta and Joaquim, but he lives with the trauma of his father's abandonment, who left Loreta to marry Regina. After meeting Nina, Conrado will fall in love with the girl. Max does not approve of their relationship, however Nina and Conrado decide to get engaged without his permission. Following great success in Europe, Eva returns to Serranias, and also falls in love with Conrado, thus creating a rivalry between the sisters. The worst will happen, when Eva asks the help of the witch Zilda to get pregnant with Conrado and, without many options, the two move to Ireland and get married. Nina is shaken by this situation, preferring to close herself off to love and starts studying and working.
2nd phase[]
In 1946, Eva and Conrado, already married, have a beautiful daughter Clara who inherited the gift of magic from her ancestors, and even so small she can already use it. Nina graduated in engineering, and becomes her father's right-hand. Even after the betrayal, she never forgot Conrado, and so she tries to fall in love with Lucas, her best friend and Conrado's cousin. Soon after, Eva finds out from the unscrupulous Peter, her ex-fiancé, who is a doctor, that she has a serious illness, a brain tumor, and has little time to live. She does not seek medical help as she thinks it's punishment for what she did to her sister.
So she goes back to Serranias, to receive Nina's forgiveness, bring her and Conrado back together, and with that totally heal her spiritual side. She, Conrado and Clara arrive in Serranias for Nina and Lucas' engagement. Nina finds herself in a complicated situation between Conrado and Lucas. Then she separates from Lucas and reconnects with Conrado. The plot will change completely when the mysterious Flávio Falcão arrives in Serranias. In fact, he is a wizard, son of Wizard Simon, considered a "God of magic". Flavio's mission is to protect the Sullivan family, especially Perola, against the terrible Zoief (Zilda's real name), who wants all the power of Wiccan magic for herself, and will plot various schemes to get what she wants.
