"Malhação – Vidas brasileiras" is a Brazilian teen soap opera written by Patricia Moretzsohn for Rede Globo. It's an adaptation of Canadian teen soap opera '30 Vies' and it aired from March 7, 2018 to April 15, 2019 as a replacement for 'Malhação: Viva a diferença'. The main stars of the season are Camila Morgado and Carmo Dalla Vecchia.
Synopsis[]
Gabriela Fortes is a teacher absolutely passionate about her profession. Her vocation goes beyond the craft and is stamped on the soul. Courageous, she brings with her the idealistic young woman of the past, who hoped to change the world through her classroom work. She has taught Portuguese and Literature for many years at Sapiência College, a private school in Botafogo, south of Rio de Janeiro. Although she is very involved with her students, her need to devote herself to an old dream is more evident: to contribute to the education of needy adolescents, to make a difference in the lives of these young people, giving them a chance of a different future.
And it is precisely because she has so much to deal with that she sometimes lets go of her own life to be closer to her students. Married to Paulo and mother of three children - the twins Flora and Alex, and the little Mel -, Gabriela became a more pragmatic woman. And her family resents her absence by wanting her to be more present at home.
The mood at home worsens when Gabriela is surprised by unexpected news. Empowered to lead a partnership between Sapienza and the NGO Path, which leads low-income youths to study in high-income private schools, Gabriela discovers that the director of the organization is a great love from the past. Rafael was an unresolved passion in adolescence, with whom she shared the same ideals. The reunion causes a stir in her life and further destabilizes the marriage, since Paulo will not contain his jealousy when seeing the wife steeped in the mission of making the new students to excel in the school.
