Synopsis[]
First phase[]
Born on the same day, in different situations, two women from different social classes have their paths crossed, united by coincidences that go beyond a birthday date. Coming from humble origins, Viola moves to an island in Angra dos Reis with her husband Mavi after he is hired to work at Zorya, a computer security company. In this new life, Viola meets Luma, a wealthy gastronomy student, and becomes her best friend, surprising her with her talent in the kitchen, delving into this universe.
However, Luma suffers from the pressure of Molina, a wealthy and unscrupulous businessman who raised her as his daughter and spares no effort to get what he wants. In the past, Luma's biological parents died in a car accident ordered by Molina, with the aim of taking control of the family's computer security company, in which he is a partner and holds half of the shares. These actions also become the target of a legal battle between the scammer and Luma. Molina also has a secret affair with his secretary and Mavi's mother, Mércia, an ambiguous woman who oscillates between good and evil, being his accomplice in his crimes. In the past, Mércia had a relationship with Nahum, who raised Mavi as if he were his own son. However, the kind old man ends up knowing all about the villain's story, becoming her thorn in the side down the line.
Unhappy in her marriage to Mavi, Viola betrays him with the fisherman Rudá, unaware that Luma is also in love with him, causing a rift in their friendship. Irritated by the betrayal, Mavi plots against Rudá and manages to unjustly have him imprisoned, while Viola decides to leave Brazil to escape her ex-husband's clutches. Meanwhile, Molina is mysteriously murdered, and Viola, Rudá, Mavi, Luma, and Mércia appear as the main suspects of the crime, as the real culprit leaves no trace. Rudá is released from prison after Mavi's scheme fails to be proven, but ends up fleeing to Portugal following Molina's murder, where he is pointed out as one of the suspects, aiming to change his life.
Another story told is that of Isis. A swindler, she is married to Henrique, son of the kind-hearted Berta. After her husband discovers that his wife was having an affair with Guga, the family's boatman in the community of Sururu, he decides to divorce her. In this relationship, Tomás is born, whom everyone believes to be the son of Isis and Henrique, but in reality, Guga is his father. Seeking to take over the entire fortune, knowing she could be at a disadvantage in the divorce, Isis convinces Guga to kill Henrique, but the killer ends up blackmailing her shortly after in exchange for her silence. However, he is also killed after an attempted invasion of Berta's mansion.
Second phase[]
Ten years later, Viola becomes a renowned chef in Europe while Luma falls into poverty. Seeking stability in life, Luma asks Viola for a job, and Viola reluctantly agrees. However, the chef feels uneasy, believing she stole her ex-best friend's life, leading to a long-standing rivalry between them. Luma investigates Viola's past, but they eventually have to unite to bring down Mavi due to Rudá's unjust imprisonment in the past.
The backdrop for all this is the Albacoa Resort, founded by Mavi after inheriting all of Molina's fortune—revealed to be his father, after being disowned by him—and it is here that the five suspects in the scoundrel's murder will reunite after so long, going through many twists and turns. The resort also becomes the stage for a conflict between Rudá and Moema against Mavi and Iberê. In the past, Iberê, without the consent of his brother Rudá and his aunt Moema, sells the family's land to the criminal and cuts ties with them after becoming rich from the business. Moema moves to the Sururu community nearby and, with the support of the entire region, vows to bring down Mavi's enterprise.
Trivia[]
- Murilo Benício was initially confirmed in the role of Molina.
